MODULAW(TM)
Insurance is INSLAW's comprehensive client/server case management
software product for insurance claims litigation and staff
counsel departments.
MODULAW tracks the litigation of claims arising
from both the personal and the commercial lines of business.
These include high volume cases such as automobile and workers
compensation suits, as well as complex and protracted cases such
as commercial and environmental liability cases.
The system is also used to control internal and
outside counsel costs, schedule events, track parties, index and
retrieve work product and documents, create budgets, monitor
expenses, make assignments and record attorney time, and produce
management reports.
MODULAW Insurance is used by many of the nation's
leading carriers. The system combines extensive tracking
functions with powerful searching capabilities, automatically
summarizing detailed information to address a range of reporting
requirements.
Because MODULAW Insurance is designed specifically
for insurance claims litigation, it can be implemented as an
off-the-shelf solution. MODULAW can also be customized to address
a company's own data and workflow needs using INSLAW's advanced
application development tools.
MODULAW Insurance
Components:
Claims and Litigation
Tracking
This component of MODULAW monitors the status of a case or claim,
from initiation through disposition. It provides access to
case-related information, including claim identifiers, claimant
names, policy information, and names of insured parties. The
system also tracks workers compensation and subrogated claims,
and allows for the setting and maintaining of reserves.
- Party and Party Counsel Tracking follows
individuals and entities associated with a case, and their
counsel. Multiple litigants, claimants, insureds, and witnesses
can be tracked and a history of settlement negotiations can be
maintained by recording offers and demands. Extensive
information on injuries sustained and damages sought can also
be captured in the system.

actions regarding cases and staff
- Rules-based Scheduling allows for
automatic calendaring of future events based on office,
account, corporate, and jurisdictional rules

files, and other documents.

are case-related. The system can also interface with
complementary packages, such as word processing, document
management, imaging, and document assembly
software.
